We've been experimenting with different aspect ratios and image setups. This is an example:
Our original setup was with the logo frame as seen in the first pin. We've added the ability to pin just the square image from our site (the third image), or a special cropped 2:3 image as spec'd by Pinterest. The 2:3 is more visible when scrolling through the pins, however, the small square image gets consistently more impressions. Not by a lot, but every time it is higher.
Anyone have any thoughts, suggestions, anything at this point? We are struggling. Our older pins (years back) are all the small square images. They are the only ones still getting the top number of impressions every month. The new ones are faltering.
