Hi, Creators! I notice that soooo many Creators come to this forum and ask others to follow them.

So, let's start a reference thread here. As this thread grows, we can re-visit it. And we can point new members to it - for insights into what makes a Pinterest account "follow-worthy!"

I love what all of you have shared its interesting to me how people decide to Follow a Pinner or Profile what they think about....Love This❤️

@hellohomegirl while I create my own idea pins and often repurpose my own content, I agree with you on accounts that post other people's content from other platforms only for the eyes it makes no sense yet I see on Pinterest many accounts who do really well using this strategy....mind boggling. @ArtsyCraftery I hear you on offensive content when I see fitness content that is nonsense or see people truly half clothed et al. in the videos I simply won't follow or engage its that simple. @TailoredByTT @mmillerrr15 Authenticity is the best Agreed! Positivity! truly is the best when I see content that is positive and relatable @isabelledias I can't help but follow.

Thanks for this question/topic @JanaOMedia  Its a great way for us creators to evaluate our motives. I think my motives and purpose have evolved some since I first began growing my creator acct on Pinterest. 
For many, in the beginning it was more about growth than strategy. I followed almost everyone that followed me or connected with me in some way. (I’m kinda friendly that way 😁)

But once your acct begins to grow, you realize there is a need for strategy to attract the right audience and keep you in your niche. 

I’m still not as picky as some because I genuinely love people and my lifestyle niche is very broad. I’ve also found that following accounts isn’t as important as the particular pins I like and save. For instance, if I follow someone I met on the PBC who sells a service or product I don’t typically buy…I may not interact with them as much on Pinterest…and I wouldn’t see their account very often UNLESS I BEGIN TO LIKE THEIR PINS AND INTERACT WITH THEIR ACCOUNT more. 

So, in summation, I really tend to follow ppl either bc I like their content on Pinterest OR bc I like them as a person/creator/business man or women and want to return the favor of a follow. In my experience, following back hasn’t really hurt my reach. 

😅This went off topic a bit, but I wanted to touch on my own experience with this because I know some people are so niched down that they are afraid to follow anyone who doesn’t fit into that specific niche.

For me, I follow profiles for two reasons; if the profile has content that either I like or somehow can relate to, or I've connected with the person through a business relationship. I've never followed anyone simply because they followed me.

I interact and engage with my followers as often as possible, making them part of the creation process. I ask their feedback about music, videos, length, colors, fonts and so on. I try to have an overall sense of what they would love to see more of and less of, and they usually know when I'm experimenting with new ideas.

When someone hits the follow button, they did that for a reason, I always appreciate when they do. And I feel I should continue posting content they personally relate to.

I feel you about the boards. But sometimes the person you are following is a member of group boards and those distasteful pins are not really from the person you are following but from another member of the group the person you are following is part of. I my followers would see only the pins I pin and not all the pins from the groups I am in as an invited member.

Well said Michael and there it is the Human Factor | Quality.

There truly are a lot of great content creators but for me if they lack the ability to be real then I have no time and I won't follow.

Great topic!  I follow others if:

* I can learn something new

* Pins are relatable to me 

* Topics have something in common with mine, (and maybe I will learn something new or relate to what I do 🤣)

I do NOT follow: 

* If there are boards or topics that don't interest me

@bodymindmood  yeah in the area of fitness, as you probably know…there is a lot of bad information out there. Yikes. I’ve been at this a long time, and some of the info on diet and exercise makes me 🤦‍

Your answers are cool and good inspirations for the growth of my new brand channel here @anonlineguy. As a new brand, I just follow anyone either because their theme is interesting or because they have a lot of followers or just random. Anyone who wants to follow my channel @anonlineguy is welcome. I'm still looking for my posture here and observing how the Pinterest AI algorithm works.

I don't know yet the secret of how some top channels on Pinterest can have 10 million more followers like @ohjoy  and @poppytalk . Please share your stories, guys!
