I was told that my account was hit by a bug in the spam filter upon noticing a decline in my Pinterest traffic.
Most (but not all) of my top ranking pins vanished completely from the search results and any pins that get re-pinned by other users only show on my iPhone notifications and not in my Pinterest analytics. My traffic is down of course and I don't know what's going on.
I have been emailing Pinterest but the only replies I got were: yes, there is a bug in the spam filter that wrongfully flagged your account as spam and the second email said there was nothing wrong and that "it can take up to four days to rank". My pins are many months old! I do not believe that rep fully read or understood my issue - v frustrating. Then they stopped replying.
My account has still not been fixed so I do not know if I should continue pinning new pins, wait until it is resolved (if it ever will be), or open a new account (although that can also be affected!).
Can someone please help me! I would greatly appreciate it! And I promise that my pins and content are good quality! many thanks in advance.
So happy to hear from you and thanks!
Kindly check if this is the correct ticket number: #204921, which i extracted from below:
"Your request (204921) has been received and is being reviewed by our team. We'll be in touch within 1-3 business days! To add additional comments, reply to this email."
Kindly advise, and I shall look for it if the above is not the correct reference
Hello Janice ( @PinterestJanice ),
thank you so very much for looking into this. You've made my day. 🤗
I will let you know if anything changes or not. I will give it a week or so.
I am glad to be a part of Pinterest community! My favorite place to be on the internet ❤️.
Sending you my best wishes and hugs.🤗
P. S. Loving the profile pic!
@PinterestGabby Here is an example of what I am talking about:
You will notice the story pin drops from 19,000 impressions to 8000 impressions. The first photo was taken 8/25 and the second photo was take 8/27. This happens all the time. As I've explained this many times to the help desk, but I'm tired of explaining it. It's been going on for months. Meanwhile my audience is 40% of what it was this time last year. Is there any chance the help desk can actually fix this and stop blowing me off? I'd just prefer honesty at this point. I don't even want to fill out a ticket anymore since they keep closing out the tickets I filled out. It is a complete waste of my time to fill out a ticket email back and forth for a month, resubmit data, and just have the ticket closed. I already have a ticket number from way back, they should be able to reopen that and solve the problem. I was told the help desk would fix my account by August back in May. I'm pretty sure I've waited long enough. Thanks for your help. I simply don't understand why I am being targeted or why this problem with not be fixed. This seems to go complete against Pinterest's state mission to treat everyone fairly.
Over the past two weeks my pins have been removed from search. My account is still there, but ALL my pins are completely removed from being found by keywords. This is not losing ranking, the images are 100% removed.
This is the 3rd time this has happened to me this year and I have no idea why. I follow all of the Pinterest policies. I've emailed the creators email and this hasn't been resolved.
Is there a team that can help me get my pins back in search and remove my site from spam? Please.....
Thanks so much!
We saw a nearly identical drop and around the same time frame. We also had a pin flagged before we saw the drop. Our account manager says its unrelated and there's no warnings/suspensions on our account but timing is suspect, also given we're not the only ones seeing the same thing. It's recovered a little bit but not to what it was before. Very disappointing.
Hello, please review my account and verify that my account has been added to the safelist. I started pinning on Pinterest in May and slowly grew my account with own content. I'm not sure what specifically is going on, but like others have stated, a lot of others have stated the exact issue with their sudden decrease in impressions. This platform and community has been a great addition to my content growth. Thank you!
Hi Apyrl, Thanks for your patience. I was able to check in with a specialist and can confirm your domain is not marked as spam or flagged in any way.
Moderator edit note: if your account has been cleared by support (i.e. they responded to your ticket and reported there are no issues or flags on your account) there is no further technical resolution that will result in the return of your distribution. From this point, the resolution is purely tactical, dependent on your pins and pinning strategy. There are recent reports on this topic of tactical strategies that are producing positive returns. We encourage you to continue sharing those wins with each other.
