Hi! Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you started using Pinterest!

Hello! I am Laura, Principal Designer at LBI. Our specialty is creating luxurious and effortlessly cool spaces for residential and commercial projects. For as long as I can remember, I have been involved in the fashion and design industry - it runs in my blood. Interior design has a profound impact on the way we live, work, play, and even heal - our environments are greatly influential on our lives, and I am fascinated by how it all works. Using my passion for travel, wellness, art, and architecture, I create inspired spaces for my clients. I started using Pinterest many years ago before I started my business. A lot of the things that made me happy were pinned on mood boards and I loved making them.

What are your goals as a small business owner and how has Pinterest helped you reach your goals?

Without Pinterest, where would we be as a design community?! I have found it to be an enormous source of inspiration and an idea generator. We use Pinterest for every project, whether it's paint ideas, furnishings, lighting, architecture, etc. Pinterest has made our processes more efficient by providing a huge database of incredible sources to access so quickly. Building project boards there has been a game changer.

Tell us about the growth you’ve seen using Pinterest. Can you tell us more about your strategy and the results you saw?

We've grown our following on Pinterest simply by sharing our work and design ideas. We send our clients, vendors, and colleagues to Pinterest as well. Pinterest is a great place for them to follow our journey, and help them to realize their vision even more. The more we inspire and educate within the platform, the more growth we see. Being a visually based business, we simply put out great content that our audience wants to see - that's our strategy. Just over the last 7 days our impressions are up 31%, engagements up 30%, total audience up 26%, engaged audience up 24%.

What aspects of your business have you been focusing on recently?

We are in the process of opening our second location and that has been an exciting labor of love! We’re currently in the construction phase and looking forward to revealing more about this a little farther down the road. 😉

Talk to us about your experience using Pins, what have you learned? Do you have a top performing ad, campaign or Pin that you can share with the community?

It's so easy to use Pins! Organizing images or moving boards around is so convenient with the drag-and-drop feature. It is so amazing to be able to reach so many different people with our work! It's cool to see which Pins are saved, shared, etc. My most popular Pins have been the ones showing shelving styling or kitchen design.

What tips would you share with other small businesses looking to use Pinterest?

Make use of the platform to get more organized, being more efficient saves you time! Pin consistently! no matter what your business is, make sure the content you share is inspiring and of the highest quality. Educational information is also great - teach your audience. 'How To' tips are always a hit.

What’s been your favorite Pinterest product or tool? 

We like the ability to share boards, keep them private or public, and also create videos - sometimes idea stories gain awareness more quickly...it's another way to reach Pinterest users looking for immediate ideas.

If you could request ANY feature for Pinterest, what would be #1 on your wishlist? 

That's a hard one! I can't think of a specific feature - the platform has so far provided us with everything we need, and it works perfectly.
