How do I fix the Missing Product Category error with my Pinterest Tag

I have a shopify site and I've installed the Pinterest Tag on my site.  I've also got Google Tag Manager but I can't seem to fix the error of "PageVisit event was sent successfully with warnings. Warning - Product Category is missing".

Can someone walk me through step by step on how to fix this including the exact code I might have to enter into each of the fields on Google Tag manager for example.  What exactly do I put in the Product Category and Product ID fields?

I have read all of the solutions online but can't actually find clear and simple instructions.

Thank you .

Hi there @rilesandbashparty, and welcome to the Community!

Bear in mind that is it not advised to have more than one implementation of the Pinterest tag on your website. Since you're using Shopify and the Shopify + Pinterest app, please make sure that there's no manually implemented Pinterest Tag on the website as this may hinder the Pinterest Tag automatic implementation by the app. Please follow the instructions in this article from our Help Center that'll help them remove the manually implemented code.

After doing so, it can take up to seven days after an event is fired for the Pinterest Tag to be considered healthy, so you'll just need to wait for it to be updated.

Regarding the warning, the missing Product Category is expected behavior with the Shopify +  Pinterest app implementation. It currently does not support the Product Category event data.

Let me know if there’s something else I can help you with!
