Confused with Pinterest Verified Merchant Program Application

Hi, We applied to be a verified merchant with Pinterest and we were excited to start running ads as well but we were denied due to being a "resale marketplace". However, currently 1st dibs, Chairish and others just like them are verified merchants with Pinterest and they are exactly that, a resale marketplace. We are not a marketplace, but rather one seller that sells vintage furniture. Why were we not approved but the big resale marketplace companies like 1st dibs and Chairish are approved? Does not make any sense.

Hi @dolphinandflamingo, welcome to the PBC! 🙂

In order to keep shopping on Pinterest inspirational and actionable, we require merchants on Pinterest to meet our Merchant Guidelines. If you have any questions about the guidelines, please review them here, or in the initial email you may have received with more details. You can also review our Help Center article, which explains the eligibility requirements in more detail!

If your account violates the Merchant Guidelines, you will have 2 attempts to correct such violations.

Let me know if I can help you with anything else!

I have read all of the information you have provided and recommended that I read. It still does not answer my question.

According to your Merchant Guidelines, 1st Dibs, Chairish, and others are not eligible. They are very clearly "Resale Marketplaces".

Why are they approved? Why are we not approved? We are not even a marketplace. Just a single store.

Hi @dolphinandflamingo, the best way for you to proceed is to file a ticket with our team -- this link goes directly to the team equipped to resolve account-specific issues like these, or in the initial email you may have received.

Please continue working with that team on this as they partner closely with engineering who has the ability to diagnose any issues with Pinterest accounts. I wish there was more I could do here but the teams who work on your ticket are closer to the work being done to resolve your concern.

Give us a shout if you need anything else!

I have filed a ticket in the past and they have yet to address my question. I almost feel like they know that Chairish and 1st Dibs violate the guidelines, but they can't or won't do anything about it due to the money those accounts bring in. And since we are a small business, they don't want to waste their time with us.

I am not accusing, this is just what it seems to us.

There is a very clear hypocrisy here. I will file a ticket again, however I have gone down that path before and all I get is generic customer service responses with nobody willing to help and be real with us.

I wish there was a way that we can become a verified merchant. Please help us.

We are a high end vintage furniture business based in South Florida. We are not a marketplace.
