Spam Followers?

Yesterday and today I've suddenly gotten over 500 followers out of nowhere...

I only had about 110 before that, so it's not normal and when I look at a few of the accounts, they have no profile picture, only one board, and either no pins at all or just a few.

Since I think they are shady spammers, I didn't click on anything.

Just wondering if Pinterest will penalize me for that and if I should contact Pinterest to ask and/or do something about it.

What do you all think?

I tried going through the process to file a ticket and keep getting an error message.

I've emailed the support-desk address for help.
