Where to pin first?

Curious to know where do you pin first?

Does it go to your blog board, or to a relevant topic first?

Also, do you share your new pin on other boards only after someone has pinned it first?

I always pin new pins to the most relevant personal board, first. Then it can be pinned elsewhere.

You always want to pin new pins to the most relevant personal board fist and then start circulating it trough other boards 🙂

I agree. Your personal board is also your archive, so pinning there first helps you make sure you have everything included. I have tried pinning elsewhere first before, via scheduled pins, and it didn't work.

Hi @coolchillmom I use my blog board to create the pin, so therefore it's the 1st. Once created, I pin it to a few of the most relevant boards on my Pinterest account.

Example: I make a pin for a recipe called "Peach Melba"... I'll pin it to my boards named "Desserts", then "Ice Cream" and maybe even "Vegetarian Recipes". Only after pinning to my own boards will I pin to several Group Boards that I belong to.

Just FYI... I currently have 173 boards to pick from & that gives me the ability to have a lot of places to pick from for pinning. You can view my Pinterest account here if you're interested: https://www.pinterest.com/foodiehomechef/boards/

Hope that helps!   Simone 😊

I pin to the most relevant board. I rarely re-pin to another board. However, I often do multiple versions of the same topic and tailor them to a relevant board. Sometimes on the same board, sometimes to another board. Here's an example:

Thanks so much for the compliment @coolchillmom most appreciated and you're very welcome!

I also forgot to mention that your own blog/site's board should be the very first board on your page. That way when someone visits your page they're more likely to send traffic to your site, as they're easily able to find your pins & hopefully click through.

After all, that's the whole point right? To get traffic to your site & if you're in business get them to buy things.

I'm always amazed when I visit other people's Pinterest pages & they either don't have a board that's dedicated to their own site or it's buried somewhere among all their other boards & very hard to find.

BTW thanks for following me on Pinterest, if followed you back 🙂
