Hi, Creators! I notice that soooo many Creators come to this forum and ask others to follow them.
So, let's start a reference thread here. As this thread grows, we can re-visit it. And we can point new members to it - for insights into what makes a Pinterest account "follow-worthy!"
I ask you to answer this question in the comments:
📌 What makes you decide to follow a Creator's Pinterest account? 📌
I'll add the first comment below!
Original, interesting and valuable content is what makes me follow someone/account. It doesn't have to be the niche that I myself create in. For example, my niche is making drink recipes so I tend to follow a lot of accounts with high quality, professionally made videos/content because I want to learn. But I also follow a good amount of accounts that center around lifestyle, baking, food because I am hoping to possibly branch out or diversify my content.
First great topic! I am loving reading everyones responses. Second for me personally if it's content I am looking for or feel called to. I like variety if I go to someones page and if I don't really vibe with the look or feel it's not for me. Energy is everything to me so if I am not feeling it with someones energy (Things change and I reserve the right the shift how I feel at any moment.) I won't follow along. I enjoy following people who are real and authentic. It's a little nudge I get that says hey you're feeling called to be here check it out. Overall, if it's content I really desire to see, aesthetics/easy to understand and energy!
Hey Jana!
I completely agree with your thoughts and i invite you NOT to follow my account (yet ;-).
I am returning to Pinterest after a while and i am still in study / brainstorm status.
I find really interesting the fact that i can share my stuff together with other stuff
that i like from other creators.
Kind of Less Me More Us vibes that i like veryverymuch. 🙂
I love following people who post genuinely helpful ideas, with links that take you to what the pin is supposed to link to. I hate click-bait-y headlines that take me to a post unrelated to the pin and will unfollow those people very quickly.
Yeah, when I look for specific patterns or costumes I often Google first, and then if I stumble on a Pinterest board with everything I need I follow.
I follow accounts that teach me something new. I'm always drawn to creators that are doing something just a bit different--whether that's creating classic recipes (with a twist) or sharing fashion and lifestyle tips that are unique, I want my feed to be filled with people who are inspiring, not carbon copies of each other.
As a recipe creator, I want to be pushed to be the best I can be so I'm always looking for new accounts to follow that are visually stunning (food photography is a weak spot of mine so I'm looking to improve and draw inspiration from their work) and that are creating recipes that are unique and fun.
For lifestyle content, I'm always trying to find creators that are not doing whatever everyone else is. I don't want a cookie-cutter feed of JoAnna Gaines, I want to be inspired by people doing unique and fun things.
I love that this thread continues to grow - and that we are seeing diverse and varied opinions here, too!
Thank you to everyone that is taking the time to reflect here!

Thank you! It's really helpful to read the responses too, @janit
Love this question @JanaOMedia! I like to follow creators that have amazing content. I love following content and creators that inspire me and those whose content pushes me to take action. Being inspired is awesome, but I love taking that first step. Marketing is what I love for my clients or encourages me to try new things and stretch my business to grow.
C*O*L*O*R is my therapy too! I even have a Pin board called Color Galaxy where I can go to word removed per Community Guidelines whenever I want! I follow boards that are bright, colorful, full of jewel tones and that generally have many pins versus a few.
I like your #2 point.
