Hi, Creators! I notice that soooo many Creators come to this forum and ask others to follow them.
So, let's start a reference thread here. As this thread grows, we can re-visit it. And we can point new members to it - for insights into what makes a Pinterest account "follow-worthy!"
I ask you to answer this question in the comments:
📌 What makes you decide to follow a Creator's Pinterest account? 📌
I'll add the first comment below!
I agree 💯with you!! On Fitness unfortunately a lot of the information I put out falls on ears that aren’t listening I have stopped doing workouts in the gym it’s annoying. Like you I have been at fitness for a while 10 years this year and going 6 years for Barre.
The content is more spectacle then helpful it’s hard to follow when I see what I see. The content makes me be like

Thank you so much to everyone who has weighed in so far! It's fascinating to read your perspectives and thought process when following others. ❤️
Such good points!
For me, it's a mix of two things:
#1 Them having content I want to learn more about - so this is your niche; there is nothing you can do about it. Some people will be interested in it; others don't. Nothing to adjust here if you love to talk about what you are already talking about.
#2 I love their personality, and how they talk about their content - here, you can only focus on being you (cliche, I know... but it's so true!). Understanding ways to show on camera, or through the way you edit your Idea Pins, your personality and unique take of the world. From your colors to your examples, the music you use, the cadence of the video... all those little details add to something uniquely you. The more confident you feel in yourself, the more that reflects on your content and how you show up as a content creator.
For #2 again... there will be people that will "click" with you and love all about it. And there will be people who just won't! Some people think I am too much, and that's ok! They are not my target audience, and this doesn't make them or me wrong. It's just life.
So I would say that followers are great, but more than that is to learn how to show up as yourself unapologetically. And find those little quirks of your personality and preferences that will make your content stand out from the crowd. The following will come as a side product of your journey. ✨
1. Color is my therapy!
I follow accounts that are colorful, bright, and pastel. For instance, the tarot community, branding marketing experts and graphic designers provide so much color inspiration 😍
2. I curate for my audience!
For instance, my niche is personal development so I follow therapists. That way I can curate mental health related content for my followers👍
3. I follow my favorite brands.
When it comes to brand partnerships, I like to keep an eye on how my fav brands are marketing their products and services. This goes a long way in personalizing my pitches to their mission and image😊
Agree with a lot of what others have said but adding that I am also very likely to follow someone if I see their Pinterest content off platform while researching my own projects.
If I see someone made a whole board for fashion accessory or era I'm also interested in, I'll check their profile and follow, but typically I'm doing that after stumbling on their photos from Google searches. It's all about that SEO game.
That is definitely an interesting point I had thought about it that way do you have an example?

I am very new to PBC and am still learning. I must say that I am very surprised at the level of quality of the Repliers. I did not expect this high a level of thought and knowledge.
I try to only follow things or people, that are interesting and seem to be valuable or worth knowing.
I do not follow or Save what I think is trivia or trivial, because IMHO, there is nothing of value in trivia, beyond the fleeting moment of humor, which is good for relaxation or to just divert us from the pressures of life, but, which has no commercial value for anyone else other than its Creators.
I have learned, from this Forum, that it is best to do some due diligence and check the Profiles and the Activity of anyone who you are considering to Follow, so as to maintain a better quality of things and people with whom you are associated.
One of the biggest reasons I may follow an account is if the content looks professional. Pins with good lighting, good sound, and text on the screen! I try my best to do the same with my content so others can follow!
The second biggest reason I will follow an account is if their content is something I am consistently interested in. For example, if I love cooking, I will follow a creator that shares lots of recipes!
When I scroll through my Pinterest feed, I always look for content that is similar to mine! For example, i love following creators with similar interests to mine: fashion, wellness, nail ideas. I love seeing their creative sides show and it inspires me to continue my own journey.
