Idea Pins: Sharing on other platforms

I have had some bloggers tell me I should not share my idea pins on other platforms and link back to the pin. For example, I post an image on my IG story with a link that says Go Pin For Later.  I have done the same thing in a FB post on my blog's page. I tell them to go watch the video for details and pin for later.  Also, I send an image to my email list with a link to the idea pin.

@Intentionalhospitality Hi! Have you utilized the download/share feature of idea pins? It’s fairly new and available for the purpose of sharing to other networks. Is this the action you are referring to? If you are routing traffic from other platforms to Pinterest, IMO, you are doing exactly what this feature is intended for. 

Pleas let me know if you are referencing a different action that I’m not addressing.

If participating in Creator Rewards TOS has a blip about you cannot be receiving payment from other platforms correct?  It is like double dipping and being paid for same content across various platforms- at least that is how Support explained this to me when asked a few months back for clarification….. but we all know SUPPORT has been known to give conflicting info.

Hi, @Intentionalhospitality! It's hard to know what the rationale would be for NOT doing this. Perhaps the advice you got was based on how one (or a few) bloggers perceive the "right" way / place to send traffic? Everyone's goals are different, so if this serves a goal you have (like to grow your Pinterest followers!), then do it! 🙂

As @everydaylifewithlaura said, consider using the new (ish) download and share feature. It is SO EASY! I love it so far.

I download the idea pin and shared on FB & IG with a link to the pin. I also have done the cover page as an image on my IG story and FB story. I just put the idea pin link and tell them to save for later.  But, if I am getting paid for the idea pin then will IG or FB zap me? Then again, how could they ever know if I get paid for a pin. Some I do I am paid for and some do not if I don't reach 100 saves or such.

Hummmm, I am only being paid by Pinterest. I do not get $ from FB or IG. So I'm technically not double-dipping. Right?
