Hey there, I'm curious if there are alternative ways to make money from crafting and DIY ideas besides using affiliate marketing. Can you share how content creators earn revenue from their original creations?

I'm curious if there are alternative ways for content creators to monetize their crafts and DIY ideas without relying solely on affiliate marketing.

Hi @mintmellow_art, thanks for your question!

After launching new creator monetization features in the last year, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the Creator Rewards program in order to focus on other creator programs and features that enable creators to earn on the platform.

In the year that we’ve had this program in beta, we’ve seen thousands of Pins published, generating millions of Saves. While we’ve seen a lot of early success with this program, we’ve taken some time to re-evaluate the best ways we can enable all creators to find success on Pinterest and monetize.

Moving forward, we’ll focus on supporting creator monetization features that are available to a wider set of creators - including the paid partnership tool, Pin product tagging with affiliate links and Pinterest TV which recently expanded to Canada. Coming up in 2023, we will be rolling out shoppable/external links in all Pins (a top demand from creators/publishers).

Let us know if we can help you further!

Thanks for your response.

Can you suggest any ways for an art and craft/DIY creator to engage in paid partnership programs? Additionally, do you have any suggestions for potential partners who will be interested to collaborate with such creators?

Hi @mintmellow_art!

The Paid Partnership tool is a feature that lets you tag a brand you have a sponsorship or branded content relationship with. The paid partnership tool is a way to disclose any paid branded relationships directly in your Pins!

Before using this tool, make sure that the brand you are tagging is on Pinterest. Note that these partnerships are already established by the creator and brand outside of the platform.
Check out our Help Center article for more information on how to use the Paid Partnership tool.
