Happy New Year Creators!
I’m BAAAAACK!!! 2022 was such an exciting year for Pinterest Creators wasn’t it? With so many new features on the app, the start and finish of the infamous Pinterest Rewards Program, as well as so much growth here in the Pinterest Business Community…it has been a FULL year for creators to say the least.
Content Creating has quickly become my full time job. Over the last year, what was once just a hobby has now morphed into a legit career earning this stay-at-home-mom-turned-creator an income that I am proud of.
But, it took A LOT of work. I stayed up many nights planning & creating content and lost a lot of sleep. I worked hard to build relationships with new brands as well as my audience. I crammed like a college student eating and drinking marketing plans and sales strategies WHILE also learning to become my own photographer, videographer, PR rep, editor, etc.
If you’re thinking, “this doesn’t sound too glorious,” it’s because it’s not.
Has it been worth it? 1000% YES!
At the end of each year, I like to take a short break from as much content creation as possible to reflect on the past years’ accomplishments and evaluate how to move forward into the new year. During this time, I try to set new goals for myself and determine what changes I may need to make for the future. After all the sleepless nights and grunt work, my year-end reflection led me toward this new perspective/ GOAL for 2023:
FOCUS ON WHAT YOU HAVE BEFORE YOU AND NOT ON CREATING NEW OPPORTUNITIES.
**If this sounds like a failing business plan to you…KEEP READING.
For me, 2022 was all about building a foundation for myself as a creator. However, I realized if I continued with this same plan to build, build, build in 2023, I was going to miss the chance to enjoy where I’m at and master what I’ve learned so far. With that mentality, I could easily end up in a place of burnout, and nothing kills the creative vibe faster than burnout.
To avoid this happening to you, I want to share with you my secret to avoiding Creator Burnout and help guide you on your creative journey into the new year.

At the end of each year, during my time of reflection, I choose a word(s) of the year to encourage me through the months ahead…a word that will help me stay on task and inspire me to keep going, when the going gets tough.
Last year, my word was: {RESILIENCE} The ability to recover from or adjust easily to change. I kept it posted on my bathroom mirror, and everyday when I woke up tired or went to bed feeling defeated, I would see it. Keeping my word of the year in front of me, helped me stay fully committed to the goals I had set for myself and my business.
This year, my word of the year is a bit different, and I actually have TWO of them:
1. Focus- because I have set my short term goals and I want to stay on track
2. Confidence-This word is for the purpose of reminding me to keep my trust in God and the abilities He has given me to do hard things. With Him, all things are possible ❤️
Choosing a word of the year for my life has been so beneficial both personally and in my business. If you haven’t done this, I urge you to spend some time reflecting and praying upon the idea.
Finally, if and when you choose your own word of the year, we would LOVE for you to share it with us in the comments on this thread.
Your word and your why may be exactly what one of us Pinterest Creators needs to be inspired to keep going!
Happy Pinning 📌
