Re: Pinterest Content - Organizing Your Content Creation Process

Recently, on the PBC Pinterest Pioneer @everydaylifewithlaura  asked a really interesting and thought-provoking question “Do You Batch Content?”

Based on the responses to Laura’s question it was pretty clear that many of us are in the same predicament when it comes to content creation and publishing, we all do it differently, and many of us don’t use any particular organizational method when it comes to creating and scheduling content for social media more specifically Pinterest.

I am no different, I never really used a scheduling or organizing system to create, schedule, or post content. I always flew by the seat of my pants.

Recently, I began going through much of my used and unused content that I had created and realized that it would be impossible to keep creating quality content if I didn’t start getting more organized - Enter Trello.

I had seen other workflow and content creation tools, but not anything that was user-friendly especially to a small business owner like me who wears all the hats.

I saw the different ways that people were using Trello for their businesses, I thought, why can’t I create a process for content creation? A process that was personalized and made sense to me and my content - so I took the initiative and created my own Pinterest Content Creation Board.*

This Board Template is free to use if you would like to try it out for your own Pinterest Content Creation Process! (Note: You will need to create a Free Account with Trello before you can access and use the board.)

I don’t think any content creation tool is perfect, but through trial and error and a lot of modification I have created a user friendly workflow that actually works for me and could work for anyone that creates and posts content.

Has my work life become easier by planning + scheduling content?
Short answer YES. I no longer feel weighted down by the thought of having to create content in the moment and I love the fact that I can focus on other things.

As part of my schedule I have chosen not to post on the weekends - yep that’s right I take the weekends off from posting content! I no longer dread Monday mornings because I know that I have all my content scheduled for the week M-F for. This leaves me much more time to work on my business including client appointments, going to the gym and completing other work, and spending time with my family.

Would I recommend Content Creation Scheduling to other Pinterest Business Community Members?
Yes 100% I do understaand and respect that everyone does Content Creation differently but having to search, create and post on the fly is definitely something I don’t miss in my creative process and I have no doubt other PBC members will feel exactly the same way.

@bodymindmood  This is very helpful, Lisa, thank you for this! I like how you mentioned you stopped posting on the weekends, this is something I'll start doing.

@michaelbliss

Hi

I noticed that posting on weekends really wasn't doing much in terms of reach so I thought perhaps if I schedule only for weekdays it would be better + honestly I wanted some downtime.
