I have been utilizing ChatGPT since November 2022, and at the moment, it is available for free. However, it is planned to be made a paid service in the very near future, so check it out asap.

Here are some tips for how I’ve used it in my Pinterest marketing workflow for my business.

What is ChatGPT

What is ChatGPT? GPT (short for “Generative Pre-trained Transformer”) is a type of language model developed by OpenAI. It uses deep learning techniques to generate human-like text, and it has been trained on a large dataset of human-generated text to predict the next word in a sequence.

This allows it to generate coherent and plausible text that can be used for a variety of natural language processing tasks, such as language translation, summarization, and question-answering.

ChatGPT is a variant of the GPT model that has been specifically designed for use in chat applications or for generating responses to user input in real-time.

Right now ChatGPT has information up to 2021 of what’s on the internet.

You can have a full conversation with this AI but, the way I’m using it is to be more creative with my content to attract my ideal audience.

1 | Understand Garbage in Garbage Out

ChatGPT's capabilities are dependent on the information and questions provided to it. To attract your ideal client, you must clearly communicate your desired outcome and ask specific questions related to that goal.

2 | Alternative Titles

I find ChatGPT to be very useful in generating captivating and diverse titles for my Pinterest pins. By inputting the command "rewrite 5 alternative titles for this Pinterest Pin Title: YOUR TITLE," I am able to receive a variety of options. While the initial results may be inconsistent, as I continue to use it, the tool becomes more efficient.

3 | Alternative Descriptions

I use a similar method as previously mentioned, but instead I input "rewrite 5 alternative descriptions for this Pinterest Pin Description: YOUR DESCRIPTION." This has been extremely helpful in saving me time and effort, as it can be challenging for me to come up with unique descriptions on my own.

4 | Calls to Action

Similarly, you can use ChatGPT to generate alternative call to actions (CTA) by inputting a command like "rewrite 5 alternative call to actions for this Pinterest Pin CTA: YOUR CTA." These short phrases are an effective way to encourage people to click on your pin.

5 | Beware

I find ChatGPT to be a valuable tool for assisting me in various writing tasks, including blog posts. However, it is important to keep in mind that it is crucial to infuse your brand voice and language into the content generated by the tool. For example, while it may suggest the word "hello," I might typically use the phrase "hey there" to align with my brand's tone and style. It is important to maintain consistency in your brand's look, feel, and voice across all platforms, such as your website and social media, to establish brand recognition.

Google's algorithms are sophisticated and if you rely solely on ChatGPT to generate your content without incorporating your brand's language and tone, it is likely that your blog posts will not perform as well in terms of visibility on Google. It's important to use ChatGPT as a tool to assist in your writing process but also incorporate your own unique voice and language to achieve better reach on the search engine

I consider ChatGPT a time saver and use it accordingly. It’s saved me about 15 hours a week in my workflow so it’s currently my favorite tool.  I’ve love for you to give it a try and comment below what you think!

@jenvazquezmedia

I agree with @michaelbliss; it's a good way to spur imagination with writing.

I have tried AI with Social Posts - but I prefer to write my blog posts, et al. from scratch.

Thanks for sharing some great information.

Does AI language negatively affect the performance of your pin idea or static pin? I mean, if you ask chatgpt to write a pin description for your pin and the description it writes for you turns out to be detected as 70-100% AI-generated content, will your pin perform worse than if the pin description was detected as human-generated content?

Que buen aporte. Estoy de acuerdo en que hay que saber preguntar. Yo digo que más que el QUÉ es el CÓMO se le pregunta. Y hay que adecuarlo como dices. Pero lo de redescribir me ayudó muhco, gracias..

That's a great question @veronikalipar regarding pin performance based on AI vs Human generated content. Typically best practices for using AI generated content is to edit AI generated content to reflect your own language style, sentence structure, tone of voice, account for SEO goals, and add your own personality. I think it goes back to the 5th point @jenvazquezmedia makes in the article (in her own words) "...it is crucial to infuse your brand voice and language into the content generated by the tool." I use AI as well but I always edit, rewrite and run it through a plagiarism checker. Hope this helps!

@californiapointe I love it too, it saves so much time. But you are right, its really important to set your own tone. But its a good kickstart, especially after trying to write the 20th product description.

Have you tried any of the visuals like DALL-E?

@cherchezlafemmebrand I don't use DALL-E but it's because I have a photography business (since 2009), so I have an enormous amount of photos I can use.  I hear it's better than the other ones out there though. Set's the bar.

@veronikalipar @IngridCoronelTravels @pastelandprizm @I ran tests first on my own account with no adverse impact, in fact I saw more engagement and outbound clicks (the ones that grow your business not just Pinterest).  I now use it for my clients too with the same results.  I use Ghostwriter from Tailwind (included in plans) and found that Ghostwriter descriptions (and titles) are more effective than ChatGPT.

We will never really know if it's a problem, until we see adverse analytics on a wide range of pins or Pinterest tells us.  So far those two things haven't happened.

Caveat:  I go through and add words I typically use to replace one's I get from any Ai.  Example-I never say unfortunately, blah blah blah.  So I would change that to Still, blah blah blah.  I will also confirm that the text the ai gives me is accurate.  That's the biggest issue really.  Last, I will read the description as a whole to decide if it sounds like me but also is it 100% what the content is about when they click.  Sometimes its too grandiose and then people pop back to Pinterest, and Pinterest knows that they came right back to pinterest and notes (however that little algorithm works) that it's not valuable content and you may get less reach.

All that to say Ai is a time-saving tool and not a secret weapon, so you still need to do the work.

These are excellent points!  And I agree it is important to be sure to use your own voice in everything you post.  I tell my clients this all the time.

A great example to use is my husband.  He has been recently beta testing using the ChatGPT for his social media accounts.  I explained that he needed to be his own "voice" in his content (and of course, this went in one ear and out the other).

And low and behold, several of his followers started asking, "Who wrote this" or "What did you do with Daniel" (that's his name, lol)!  Believe me when I say your followers will know it's not you and get discouraged because you are not being "real."

Thanks again for the tips.😍

Amazing info thank you so much!!

I have been creating ai generated art on mid-journey and I made a board called 'AI Women' - it's one of my best performing boards.

In terms of using chatgpt for captions I have found that they are all too similar and I can spot a caption that has been generated using ai a mile off now so I deffo agree it needs to be supplemented with your own brand voice.

Thanks again for sharing your tips!

Love, Sophie x

@sophiesellbe I agree!! The unleash and those types of words repeat over and over and you can spot them in blogs.  Adding your brand voice and using words you typically use will make it more unique.
