We’re proud to announce our latest advancement in inclusive beauty search with the rollout of hair pattern search. Using computer vision-powered object detection technology and created with Black, Brown and Latinx Pinners in mind. This new feature will empower users to search for hair inspiration across six different hair patterns: protective, coily, curly, wavy straight and shaved/bald. Now available for our audience in the UK, US, CA, GB, IE, AU, and NZ, on iOS, Android, Web and Mobile Web. For more information on the announcement, check out our Newsroom.
📌: Please note your user settings must be in English to access the feature.
It’s time to say goodbye to Pinterest’s photo comment feature, also known as Tries. We have started to remove the option to comment with photos, however, you may continue seeing photo comments from previous threads.
But when one door closes, another one opens. That’s why we’re excited to announce that Idea Pin takes are in the process of being rolled out! A take is a brand new way for a Creator’s audience to engage with their content by simply replying to the original Pin with an Idea Pin of their own. This feature is meant to create an easier entry into creation by allowing your audience to build on an idea they see on Pinterest.
To enable takes on your content, navigate to your Advanced settings menu when putting the finishing touches on your Idea Pin creation.
📌: This feature is currently being rolled out to select users who have select access to creating Idea Pins.
If you were leveraging stickers when creating Idea Pins and are on an iOS app version that’s lower than 9.21, you may no longer see the option to create stickers. To correct this, please update your Pinterest app to the most recent version.
📌: Note, if you’re also using Mentions and Product Tags, you will need to make sure your app is up-to-date otherwise you may not see either of those features.
Hey, Pinners! This one's for you. Starting today, non-business accounts in the US are now able to create Idea Pins. Please note that some features like enabling Takes and Product Tagging are not available to Pinners quite yet.
